SAFER RECRUITMENT IN EDUCATION
Following government statutory guidances all candidates are vetted through visual DBS and update service checks. All allegation and offender barred lists are referred to using addresses, past and present names. Face to face interviews are held before any placement is made.

Using documentation approved by the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Proof of address-

Utility bill, bank statement, council tax, local authority or government correspondence.

2 Confirmation of identity-

Passport (essential) with a driver's license or government identity card​.

In person visual and physical checking of proof of address and proof of identity.​

Minimum of 5 years working history.

Hour long face-to-face candidate interviews.
VETTING PROCEDURES

​​Right to work in the United Kingdom (if necessary).

Visual and physical check of Enhanced DBS certificate.

Obtain and receive updates on DBS update service.

Overseas police checks (if necessary)

Prohibited from teaching check.

Prohibited from education check.

Medically fit to work confirmation upon registration.

Share policy for reporting abuse.

Face-to-face candidate interviews.

Two satisfactory references one of which must be from last employer.

Satisfactory references covering the last 3 to 5 years minimum.

Authentication of all qualifications.

Confirm completion of statutory induction periods of Newly Qualified Teachers as determined by the Department for Education.

Verify UK NARIC PGCE equivalency for overseas teaching qualifications.

Verification of any gaps in an applicant’s work history.
